Triple Mode HSPA / LTE / WiMAX Power Amplifier Module

Axis Network Technology has introduced a super efficient triple mode power amplifier module and IP linearisation solution, offering a 45% final stage efficiency for UMTS ETSI compliant 64QAM systems at 2.1GHz.

The solution uses just a power amplifier module and IP block resident in the transmitter chain FPGA, therefore, the customer implementation is both simple and cost effective.

As well as UMTS, this solution operates with CDMA and OFDM (DVB, WiMAX and LTE) air interfaces. The solution supports up to 30MHz of signal bandwidth and single and multicarrier signals for all modes.

Rohde & Schwarz pioneers standard-compliant measurement of spurious emissions of WiMAX terminal equipment

The new R&S TS8977 test system from Rohde & Schwarz handles standard-compliant measurements on terminal equipment that supports WiMAXTM and other broadband wireless access (BWA) standards. The R&S TS8977 makes it possible for the first time to run test cases stipulated by the new ETSI R&TTE directive. Manufacturers and test houses will enjoy multiple benefits from the only all in-one solution available on the market. Automated test sequences ensure high efficiency because they make user control unnecessary during the time-consuming measurements of conducted spurious emissions. In addition, automatic system calibration yields high measurement reproducibility and accuracy.

The R&TTE (Radio & Telecom Terminal Equipment) directive of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) defines the rules that ensure disturbance-free wireless data traffic. It sets spurious emission limits for WiMAX and other BWA terminal equipment and stipulates immunity to interference caused by signals outside the wanted frequency. In the past, manufacturers and certification labs lacked an all-in-one solution that could perform the required out-of-band and conducted spurious emission measurements in line with standards. Rohde & Schwarz has met the challenge with the R&S TS8977, an efficient test system based on tried-and-tested Rohde & Schwarz instruments. Customers who already use such instruments can easily integrate them into the test system.
