(NASDAQ:CNXT), a worldwide leader in semiconductor solutions for broadband communications, enterprise networks and the digital home, today announced that its IEEE 802.11a/b/g dual-band WorldRadio reference design achieved Wi-Fi Certification for WMM(TM) (Wi-Fi Multimedia). WMM provides superior quality of service (QoS) features for wireless multimedia applications by prioritizing network audio, video and data traffic and decreasing latency. The validation process also ensures that products receiving WMM certification are interoperable, which will facilitate the adoption of Wi-Fi in the consumer electronics market. As part of the Wi-Fi WMM interoperability test bed, Conexant's WorldRadio reference design will be used to validate other Wi-Fi products seeking this important certification.

Conexant's WorldRadio is the first of its wide portfolio of PRISM WLAN reference designs to receive this important certification.
