A major
milestone is reached for Europe's largest and fastest growing
public access Wi-Fi network, The Cloud. Ericsson has today supplied
over 6,000-access points to be integrated into different public
locations around UK.
"The success of The Cloud over the past year has been based around
a
robust business strategy that integrates innovation with market
demands." said Niall Murphy, CTO The Cloud. "We pride ourselves
on
operating one of the most flexible public access Wi-Fi networks and
delivering that with some of the most innovative partners in the
industry."
The Cloud
operates a multi service-provider Wi-Fi platform, which
allows providers such as ISPs, mobile operators and cable companies
to offer a fully branded wireless LAN experience to their customers.
Site owners can maximise their revenue potential by supporting all
major service providers. The Cloud offers national wireless LAN
coverage with more than 4,300 hotspot locations and is opening more
than 100 new locations each week.
"Ericsson have successfully delivered a fast DSL hot spot network
roll-out in large volumes and under a short period of time. Ericsson
is key-supplier to the Cloud network bringing about a strong business
model where fixed data access is bundled with Public hot spots,"
says
